Dorothy Lavon Segraves Dame Hollans, 89, of Jonesboro passed away Monday, October 19, 2020. She was born in Walnut Ridge to Perry and Helen Segraves and lived in Walnut Ridge for most of her life.
She worked at Jonathan Logan dress factory in Walnut Ridge before becoming a LPN. Then following her passion, she earned her RN degree at Arkansas State University. During her career as a nurse, she worked for Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence County Health Department, Director of Nurses at both nursing homes in Walnut Ridge, Methodist Hospital, and George W. Jackson. She retired from George W. Jackson in 1993.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob Dame; sister Christine Lombard; and brothers Johnny Carroll Segraves, Jake Seagraves, and Lavelle Segraves.
She is survived by her husband Lewis Hollans; daughters Vickie Rowland (Jim) and Diane Lee (Benton); grandson Shawn O’Brien; granddaughters Heather Brody (Brian) and Britny Hjorungdal (Will); great-granddaughter Madison Brody; great-grandsons Chase Brody, Kyler O’Brien, and Karter O’Brien; sisters Marnelle Wolff and Marcie Wilson; stepdaughters Sandy Vandiver and Susan Cropper; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a loving mother and grandmother (Mema). She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, and traveling. Christmas time was her favorite time of the year.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 24th at 1 p.m at Bryan Funeral Home followed by graveside service at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park with Bro. Dale Blackwell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Benton Lee, Jim Rowland, Shawn O’Brien, Chase Brody, Karter O’Brien, and Will Hjorungdal.
Honorary Pallbearers are Stanley Debow, Buel Dame, Perry Lombard, John Segraves, Gary Ingram and Sam Mandello.
