James William "Little Willie" Owens was born October 18, 1871 and died June 10, 1885. He was the son of J.M. (James Marion) and A.L. (Angelana) Owens. His father was working at dislodging a bullet that had become jammed in the blacksmith shop in the barn. He had sent Little Willie outside. The gun went off and the bullet went through the barn, killing his son outside.
