A Funeral Service for Darwin Robert Martinell of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 11, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Gary Wise officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm, at the funeral home.

Darwin passed away November 6, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 71. He was born January 19, 1942, in Chester, South Dakota, the son of Robert and Martha Goodmenson Martinell. He married Mary McIntire on July 14, 1990, at Gassville, Arkansas and was a retired United States Navy veteran of the of Vietnam War. Darwin lived in Mountain Home since 1989, moving from Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the Gassville Baptist Church and enjoyed mechanical work and working on cars and tractors.

Darwin is survived by his wife, Mary Martinell of Mountain Home, AR; four sons, Darwin Robert (Amber) Martinell, Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD, Joseph Barney Martinell of Mountain Home, AR, Terry Ladwig of Mountain Home, AR and Robert Martinell of Mountain Home, AR; eight daughters, Linda (Mark) Witham of Haskell, AR, Lisa Martinell of Sioux Falls, SD, Troy Lynn (Ken) Joseph of Sioux Fall, SD, Melissa (Guy) Fish of Henry, SD, LaDonna Kingsman of Canova, SD, Trisha Martinell of Sioux Falls, SD, Sandra (Joey) VanMatre of Gassville, AR and Mya Martinell of Mountain Home, AR; seven grandsons; eight granddaughters; several great-grandchildren and two sisters, Joyce (Donnie) Krum of Bruce, SD and Donna Wilson of Badger, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Joey VanMatre, Joseph Martinell, Robert Martinell, Terry Ladwig, Darwin Martinell, Jr. and Allen Vostatek as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #3246 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guards.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or any veteran's organization of choice.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
