Robert Irvin Dollahite, Jr., 89

A Gathering of Friends and Visitation for Robert Irvin Dollahite, Jr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas will be Monday, April 17, 2017, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.

Robert passed away April 15, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 89. He was born May 9, 1927, in Water Valley, Mississippi, the son of Robert and Lillian Ruby Dollahite, Sr. He married Wanda J. Bowlan on July 14, 1951, at Hernando, MS and worked as a Railroad Engineer for Illinois Central Railroad. Robert was a United States Navy Veteran. He lived in Mountain Home since 1991, moving from Nesbitt, MS. He was a member of the White Station Baptist Church in Memphis, TN and attended the Twin Lakes Baptist Church in Mountain Home. He enjoyed story-telling, camping, fishing and gardening.

Robert is survived by his wife, Wanda Dollahite of Mountain Home, AR, son, Eddie Dollahite of Mountain Home, AR, three daughters; Becky (Fred) Shearer of Baton Rouge, LA, Connie Dollahite of Mountain Home, AR, and Tina (Scott) Kiehle of Albany, NY, grandchildren; Brad Dollahite, Heather McLean, Jenny (Travis) Serpas, Matthew Kiehle and Sarah Kiehle, 4 great-grandchildren; Marcus May, Micaela McLean, Jonathan Dollahite and Joseph Serpas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, son, Lonnie Lee and son-in-law, Ken Shook.

Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, or Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
