Reverend Louis G. "Louie" Stephens

Mountain Home - Funeral Services for Reverend Louis "Louie" Grover Stephens of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Maurice Hitt officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 30, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.

Louis passed away April 26, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 78. He was born December 3, 1939, in St. Hilaire, Minnesota, the son of Grover and Eva Stephens. He married Henrietta Shaw on July 5, 1962, in Myrtle, Missouri and was a truck driver for many years before becoming a Baptist Minister. Louis also worked at Kirby and Family Funeral Directors as a driver and assistant funeral director for 16 years. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where he was the minister for 27 years. Louis lived in Mountain Home for 45 years, moving from Myrtle, Missouri. He was an avid Cardinals fan for many years and loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his granddogs.

Louis is survived by his wife, Henrietta Stephens of Mountain Home, AR; four children, Russell Dean Stephens of Enid, OK, Valerie Joy Aupperle of Parkers Prairie, MN, Tammy Lynne Jarvis of Cloquet, MN and Jason Aaron Stephens of Paragould, AR; cousins, Cindy Stephens, of Ilion, NY and Patty Russitano, of Frankfort, NY, 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and two more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two uncles, Robert and Grover Stephens.

Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas with Jason Stephens, Russell Stephens, Levi Dyke, Derrick Dyke, Bob Jarvis and Dakotah Revering as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Shaw, Choyce Gandy, John Sonntag, Al Gibson, Jerry Fouts, Lee Watson and the Ministers of the White River Baptist Association.

Memorials may be made to Mission Dignity, 2401 Cedar Springs Road, Dallas, Texas, 75201.
