Charles D. Jackson, 78 of Waldo, Arkansas died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at his home. He was born March 27, 1930 in Columbia County, Arkansas to the late John Henry and Dovie (Roberts) Jackson. Charles was a member of Antioch West Baptist Church and was a former Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Gerald, Robert and Thurston Jackson and one sister, Murlene Jackson.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy (Ward) Jackson of Waldo; two daughters, Sharlene Staggs and husband Doug of Bradley, Pat Clark and husband Jimmy of Buckner; one son, Terry Jackson of Waldo; grandchildren, Jeremy and Tonya Clark of Buckner, Jessica Jackson of Goodrich, Texas, Erica Jackson of Goodrich, Texas, Samuel Jackson of Waldo; step grandchildren, Laura Wallace of Fouke, Clint Staggs of Texarkana; great grandchildren, April Clark of Buckner, Ethan Rios of Goodrich, Texas; step great grandchildren, Jamie Robertson of Texarkana, Russ Wallace of Texarkana, Aaron Staggs of Texarkana, J. T. Staggs of Texarkana, Chris Sorsby of Red Water, Texas; four step great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February, 18, 2009 at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Sayers officiating and assisted by Bro. Chris Lucy. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc .of Magnolia. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Dyson, John Jack, Jeremy Clark, Samuel Jackson, Alvin Dale Jackson, and Dennis Cole.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Jackson, Steve Jackson, Scott Jackson, Hollis Rinehart, Larry Cole, Danny Jackson, and Mike Ward.
