FORT WORTH--Jane Elizabeth Brazell Sisolak joined the church triumphant on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, with her family by her side. FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Monday in Ridglea Presbyterian Church, 6201 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth. Interment: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, in Shiloh Cemetery in Lamartine, Ark. Visitation: was 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Greenwood, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth. MEMORIALS: May be made to Ridglea Presbyterian Church, 6201 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76107; and to the American Cancer Society. She was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Camden, Ark., the daughter of Roy B. Brazell and Dorothy A. Boyd Brazell. She attended Camden High School, Camden, Ark., where she graduated valedictorian in 1960. After high school, she attended Arkansas Tech University for two years before transferring to Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where she graduated cum laude in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Upon graduating from Austin College, she was hired by the Fort Worth ISD. She taught English in four FWISD middle schools: Stripling, Leonard, Handley, and Wedgwood. She attained her Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas in 1985, then serving as the librarian at Stripling Middle School for 21 years before retiring in 2006. Jane was a very active member of Ridglea Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. She was an elder and served as clerk of session for the past five years. She was also a member of the RPC church Handbell Choir for 40 years. Jane was a member of three book clubs. Besides being an avid reader, she had a passion for genealogy. She gained acceptance into the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1995, where she was currently serving as the vice regent of the Six Flags Chapter NSDAR. Her penchant for genealogy led to the discovery of 11 direct line ancestors who fought in the American Revolution. She was very proud of these discoveries and her membership in the NSDAR. In 1966 Jane met the love of her life, Tom Sisolak, on a blind date, which lasted over 51 wonderful years. In 1971, they were blessed with a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, then in 2008 with a son-in-law, Dale, then in 2015 with a beautiful granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth. She held active memberships in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Fort Worth Woman's Club, Texas Retired Teachers Association, Fort Worth Retired School Employees Association, and the Tarrant County Democratic Woman's Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy B. Brazell and Dorothy Boyd Brazell; and brother, Roy Boyd Brazell. SURVIVORS: Husband, Thomas J. Sisolak; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sisolak Wagner; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Wagner; son-in-law, Dale Wagner; cousins, Sammy Brazell of Magnolia, Ark., Paula Kay Armstrong Roberts of Helena, Mont., Raymond L. Armstrong of Montana, Angela Roberts Smith of Helena, Mont., Elizabeth A. Roberts Nave of Montana, Frances E. Pell of Memphis, Tenn., and John Pell of Memphis, Tenn.; brother-in-law, William Sisolak and wife, Vira, of Washington, D.C.; many nieces and nephews; and many, many loving friends.
