Eris Shepard, 84 of Magnolia, Arkansas died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia.
Eris was born August 21, 1928 in Waldo, Arkansas. Eris was a telephone operator for Sears and Roebuck Company and a member of the Church of Christ in Waldo. She was a homemaker and true nurturer who cherished her children and family. Her family, friends and the community have always been the center of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gladys (Byrd) Flaherty, husband Vernis Shepard and four brothers Donal, Kenneth, Houghlyn, and Quinton Flaherty.
She is survived by her daughters Sue Wallace of Vernon, Texas, Brenda Gates (Lynn) of Magnolia; sisters Joann Taylor of Magnolia, Jackie Jackson (Jimmy) of Fouke; brothers Garth Flaherty of Texarkana/Fulton, Jerry Flaherty (Barbara) of Fouke; grandchildren Michael Wallace (Amanda) of Redwater, Texas, Chris Gates (April) of Magnolia, Amanda Gates of Magnolia; great grandchildren Cameron Wallace, Halie Gates; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 14th at Lewis Chapel with Rev. Mark Lasater officiating. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Taylor, David Taylor, Jimmy Dale Jackson, Wes Taylor, Zack Taylor, Patrick Taylor, and Jimmy Jackson.
