When Carl Henry Christiansen was born on February 19, 1894, in Clinton, Iowa, his father, Carl, was 46 and his mother, Lucy, was 33. He married Louisa Christine Schroeder on February 22, 1922, in Charlotte, Iowa. They had two children during their marriage. He died as a young father on February 1, 1926, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 31.
