When Viola Catharine Schroeder was born on November 21, 1905, in Charlotte, Iowa, her father, Peter, was 36, and her mother, Caroline, was 31. She had one brother and three sisters. She died on April 28, 1966, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 60, and was buried there.
