Gary Eugene VanBeveran, 66, of Bradford, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at White County Medical Center in Searcy. He was born April 5, 1946 in East Moline, Illinois to the late Charles VanBeveran and Beaulah Rusk. Gary was a devout Christian man who loved God and his family. He attended Smith Center Assembly of God in Hickory Ridge. He enjoyed hunting and going to ball games. Gary was a sports fan, but he really loved NASCAR. Dale Earnhardt, Sr. was his favorite driver.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 45 years, Carolyn Davis VanBeveran of Bradford; one daughter, Cathy (Pete) Madison of Kulpmont, Pennsylvania; "special sons", Aaron and Austen Rutledge of Bradford; one brother, Rick (Jeanie) VanBeveran of Desert Hot Springs, California; one sister, Kay (Chuck) Benson of East Galesburg, Illinois.
He is preceded in death by his special dad (father-in-law), Howard Davis; his parents; brothers, Charles VanBeveran and Mack VanBeveran and a half brother, Jackie Frye.
Visitation will be Sunday, 2-3 p.m., Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Services will start at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Ricky Williams and Bro. Bobby Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia.
