Lavera Parrott, 86, of Springdale; died Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Springdale. She was born Sunday, April 1, 1934, at Whitener; to Malcolm and Erma Laningham Worley.
Lavera was a homemaker and mother to seven children. She loved gardening, canning, sewing, crafts fairs, cooking for her family, or cooking for a benefit or church dinners. She was member of The House of Worship at Hindsville for 34 years. She considered it an honor to help build this church a house of prayer. She loved traveling and seeing God's creations. She cherished her time with her children and grands. She took pleasure in teaching and showing them things she enjoyed. She had a passion for good old gospel music and praising her Lord; often traveling old dirt roads, highways, and the Pig Trail to hear good ol' gospel music and bible preaching. Lavera was also always ready to meet the needs of community members.
Lavera was predeceased by her parents, her husbands, one daughter, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three sons, James and Brenda Worley, Larry Thompson and Linda Reddell, and Tim and Melissa Thompson, all of Hindsville; three daughters, Sue Kern of Galena, Missouri;
Kay Laningham of Harrison, and Leona Parrott of Huntsville; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Thompson of Fayetteville; one son-in-law, Jim Kern of Huntsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Darson and Dottie Worley of Hindsville; three sisters and brother-in-law, Eunice Lewis, Lena and Herman Fyer, both of Hindsville; and Cleo Sisemore of Fayetteville; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, her church family, and friends.
The family will receive friends, 6:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Brashears Funeral Home. Please practice social distancing and face masks are required for entry. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Brashears Funeral Home with Bill Williams and Lonnie Siler officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry Thompson, Tim Thompson, James "Bo" Worley, Jr., Wayne Laningham, Marvin Laningham, and Brandon Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Thompson, Chris Stout, Jerry Worley and Sam Worley. Interment will immediately follow services at Worley Brush Creek Cemetery, Huntsville. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
