James L. Burrow, 83, of Hampton passed away February 10, 2018 at his home. He was born November 3, 1934 in Thida, Arkansas. He and his wife, Doris moved to Hampton in 1961. After serving as a local barber he purchased Hampton Builders Supply in 1973. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hampton. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Dolf Burrow and Lorene Bright Burrow. He is survived by his wife, Doris Wells Burrow of Hampton; one son, Lindell Burrow of Lake Village; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and J.R. Gurnsey of Hampton; two sisters, Loretta Robinson of Anchorage, AK, Barbara Kumpe of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Lindell Jr. Burrow of Dallas, TX, Brandy (T.J.) Files of Warren and Melissa (John) Gammel of Monticello; eight great grandchildren, Austin Burrow, Kynlee Files, Kamryn Files, Kate Files, Karis Files, Karlee Files, Kiah Files, and John David Gammel, III. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday at First Baptist Church in Hampton with Rev. Mike Nutt and Rev. Paul Reames officiating. Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Thursday at Oakland Cemetery near Bradford, Arkansas. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce/Hampton.
