Clarence S. Rostad, 94, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 in Lubbock.
He was born on February 3, 1919 in Beloit Wisconsin to the late Conrad and Bertha (Johnson) Rostad. He went to work for Chevrolet – Janesville on January 4, 1937 and was drafted into the Army of the United States in June. He was a veteran of World War II and was sent to the European Theater. He was there until the war in Europe ended on May 8, 1945 and discharged in April 1946.
While in Texas he met Frances B. McCowen and married on August 12, 1944. He joined the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors and continued his work for 42 years.

He moved to Magnolia in April 1983 and had 21 years of happiness there and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, but moved to Lubbock, Texas in December 2004 to be near his son.
Clarence is survived by his son, Hugh Paul Rostad and wife Judy Jay Rostad of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Jill Anne Ramsey and husband Patrick of Lubbock, Jennifer Lynn Clutter and husband Scott of Frisco, Texas, Jay Paul Rostad and wife Kate of Jupiter, Florida; three great grandchildren, Jack Alexander Clutter, Benner Jude Ramsey, and Remy Katherine Rostad; and two nephews, Vernon Schultz and wife Leola of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Lyle Schultz of Tucson, Arizona.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Waldo with burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc.
Visitation with the family will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
