When George William Nicks was born in September 1863 in Arkansas, his father, Absolom, was 21 and his mother, Amanda, was 19. He married Cynthia Ann Hardister on September 30, 1896. They had eight children in 16 years. He died on August 24, 1936, in Arkansas City, Arkansas, at the age of 71.
