Mrs. Birdell Elliott died last Friday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Spearsville, La., she was the daughter of Lee and Isabell Dismuke Gray. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her survivors include her husband, Lawrence Elliott; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Odessa Thigpen, Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Jerline Whitstone, Cleveland, Ohio; one son, William Hildreth, Seattle, Wash.; stepmother, Mrs. Rosie Lee Gray, El Dorado; four sisters, Mrs. Curtis Ford and Mrs. Fannie Mae Murphy, both of El Dorado, Mrs. Ruby Lee Ford, Travis A.F.B., Calif., Mrs. Lillie M. Taylor, Milwaukee, Wis.; and two brothers, Dennie L. Gray, San Diego, Calif., Robert L. Gray, Milwaukee, Wis. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Rev. O. C. Turner, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery, Elliott, Ark,, under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. The family dinner will be served at the home of Mrs. Fannie M. Murphy.
