Flossie Elvira Little, 108, of Huntsville; passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab. She was born Thursday, April 29, 1915, at Crossroads; to Josiah Hamilton and Mary Lucinda Villines Clark.
Flossie married William Doyle Little on Saturday, May 25, 1940, at Kingston; and together they were parents to two children, Donna Jean Little and Elwanda Little Mitchell. She was a homemaker and was filled with love, gentleness, and wisdom. Flossie gave her heart to the Lord at an early age and was a member of the Kingston Regular Baptist Church. She was a very spiritual lady and put the Lord first in all that she did. As a result, she is a great example of the very wise and powerful woman described in Proverbs 31. She loved her family deeply; especially her grandsons and great-grandchildren. Doyle and Flossie were great gardeners and Flossie canned and preserved what the gardens produced. She made many quilts and afghans which even today give comfort and warmth to family and friends Her greatest gift was the way she gave her heart to family and friends. She has been, as one pastor described
her, an angel who lived among us.
Flossie was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Little; one daughter, Elwanda Mitchell; her parents; and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Jean Little, of Huntsville and her son-in-law, Larry Mitchell and his wife Mary, of Fayetteville. She is also survived by her grandsons; Brian Mitchell and his wife, Erin; Brent Mitchell and his wife Misty; and Brock Mitchell and his wife Digby. Flossie
is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Bayle Mitchell, Aidan Mitchell, Chanlr Mitchell, Ansley Mitchell, Mayella Mitchell, and Creek Mitchell.
The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2023, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, with Larry Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Mitchell, Brent Mitchell, Brock Mitchell, Aidan Mitchell, Creek Mitchell, Billy Clark, and Curtis Clark. Interment will immediately follow services at Kingston Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
