A Celebration of Life for Gerry Lenard of Lakeview, Arkansas, will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, with Reverend Pat Norris officiating.
Gerry passed away November 23, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. He was born February 24, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Elsa Lenard. He married Peggy Bechtel on September 12, 1970, at Des Moines, Iowa and retired from the Vienna Sausage Company. Gerry was a U.S. Army veteran. After moving from Florida to Lakeview 25 years ago, Gerry worked for Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services for 12 years, retiring again in 2014. He was a member of the River Cliff Golf Course, where he was former president of the men's golf league. He was an avid collector of tin tobacco cans.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Peggy Lenard of Lakeview, AR; daughter, Marvis Baehr of Des Moines, IA; son, Steven Marshall of Mesa, AZ; son, Randy Lenard and grandchildren, Betsy Drach, Bobby Baehr, Ryan and Austin Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marvis; brother, Leonard and niece, Jean Douglas.
Inurnment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the North Central Arkansas Humane Society.
