When Jerry Dean Charlton was born on March 28, 1945, in Marvell, Arkansas, his father, Daniel, was 43 and his mother, Annie, was 38. He had eight siblings. He died on October 25, 1967, in Tân An, Long An, Vietnam, at the age of 22.
