Tannie E. Godfrey, 94 years young, was called home, July 1, 2020, to be reunited with many friends and family.
She graduated from the Adventist Academy in Gentry.
She owned and operated Billie’s Beauty Shop in Little Rock, AR where many friendships would bond and be shared in raising her family that lasted a lifetime.
Billie and Dick Godfrey retired to Rogers, AR in 1991. Billie as all Little Rock and many Rogers friends knew her by was a member of the Little Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church and transferred to the Bentonville Seventh Day Adventist church when relocating to Rogers.
When the time came in life to move to assisted living, she changed to her Christian name Tannie Godfrey. This was the only name she related to til death.
She was preceded in death by so many that molded her life and legacy. Her husband, L.D. Godfrey, her parents, Mamie and Rufus Boggs, her brother, O.B. Boggs, three sisters, Lenora Boggs, Gretchen Evans, Farrell Wisdom, son in law Jim Shearin and many aunt, uncles, and cousins.
Tannie is survived by her daughters, Sandra Kuntz and her husband Doug of Fayetteville, AR, Janet Shearin of Cave Springs, AR, two sons, Gary and Greg Godfrey of Castle Rock, CO, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
She will be missed beyond measure.
A Private graveside service will be held at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.
We wish to thank the staff of nurses at Shiloh Nursing for their wonderful care of mom for the past two years and especially during this trying time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bentonville or to the Alzheimer Association.
