When Willie Mae Hughey was born on February 22, 1903, in Mississippi, her father, James, was 43, and her mother, Nancy, was 28. She married John Hughey on July 24, 1920, in Arkansas. They had three children during their marriage. She died on April 8, 1993, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 90.
