Ida Maezelle Hodge, age 81, of Stamps, AR. passed away Friday June 19, 2020 at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, TX.
Mrs. Hodge was born January 16, 1939 in Winthrop, AR to Milton and Jessie Woodell. She enjoyed singing and was known as the Arkansas Hummingbird. She performed as a solo act and in a group with her Husband Claude Jerry Hodge. She was retired from Falcon products where she was the best seamstress. She was a member of the Forest Grove Baptist Church in Stamps and the Ladies Lions Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Charles “Bo” Chrisman and Jimmy Cruse and one daughter Vicky Dean.
Ida is survived by her Husband Claude Jerry Hodge of Stamps, AR., three sons Wesley Morton of Phoenix, AZ, Jerry Hodge and Larry Hodge of Covington, KY. Two daughters, Penny Chrisman of Stamps, AR. and Hanna Walls of Barberville, KY. Two brothers Edward Woodell of Vivian LA and Amos Woodell of Texarkana, AR. one sister Betty Powell of Doddridge, AR. Two brother-in-laws, Larry Hodge of Stamps, AR. and Kenny Hodge of Kentucky. Three sister-in-laws, Rosemary Covington, Claretta Wallace both of Kentucky and Lois Langburn of Brunswick, ME. 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and one on the way and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service will be held 2PM Monday, June 22, 2020 at Sardis Cemetery in Stamps with Bro. William Smith officiating, under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 6PM until 8PM at the Smith Funeral Home Thomas Street Chapel in Stamps.
