SPRINGDALE — George L. Graves, 89, of Springdale, Ark. passed away at his home on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015. George was born on June 27, 1926, in Harvey, Ark.

He was a son of Edward and Dovie Lealer Shores Graves.

He married Eva Bowers on April 5, 1947 in Huntsville, Ark. George was a Master Electrician by trade and enjoyed hunting and fishing, hunting for ginseng and bee hives, doing lawn work, singing and playing his guitar for revivals and shut ins, and was of the Pentecostal faith.

George proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the South Pacific.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Graves of the home; a brother, Odell Graves of Springdale; his sister in law, Geneva Patterson of Springdale; his daughter in law, Paulette Graves of Springdale; four grandchildren, Terry Graves and wife Tara of Prairie Grove, Shelly Rankin and husband Philip of Prairie Grove, Travis Graves and wife Summer of Springdale, and Robin Boatright and husband Scott of Springdale; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bobby Lee Graves, four brothers, Pat, Arthur, Warnon, and Jerry Don Graves; two sisters, Dollie Tuggle and Mary Fay Perry.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Monday, Sept. 7, 20L5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at 10 a.m. Rev. Paul Eden, Dorlin Sparks and Brad Graves will officiate the service. Burial will be held at the Wilson Cemetery with military honors under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale. SPRINGDALE — Eva Graves, 85, of Springdale passed away at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015. Eva was born on Aug. 22, 1930, in Springdale, a daughter of Robert Lee Bowers and Ida Catherine Tabor Bowers.

She married George Graves on April 5, 1947, in Huntsville, Ark. She was a homemaker who loved sewing, quilting, cooking, baking and traveling with her sister. She was a member of the Revival Tabernacle in Springdale.

She is survived by her sister, Geneva Patterson of Springdale: a brother in law, Odell Graves of Springdale; her daughter-in-law, Paulette Graves of Springdale; four grandchildren, Terry Graves and wife Tara of Prairie Grove, Shelly Rankin and husband Philip of Prairie Grove, Travis Graves and wife Summer of Springdale, and Robin Boatright and husband Scott of Springdale; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Graves; her parents, Robert and Ida Bowers; one son, Bobby Lee Graves; brothers, Clifford and Lloyd Bowers and one sister, Beatrice Thomas.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at 1 p.m. Rev. Paul Eden and Brad Graves will officiate the service.
