DODSON, C.G. - Springdale, June 22.- Dr. C.G. Dodson, 62 years old, prominent business man of Springdale, died here Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at his home. He had been in ill health for some time and had been taking treatment in the hospital at Fayetteville but for the past week had been coming to Springdale each morning and returning to the hospital at night. He made the trip Saturday by car. He was found in the bathroom at his home by his sister, Mrs. Jennie Nickerson, and apparently had been dead but a short time. Dr. Dodson was born in Lawrence county July 2, 1867. In his early youth he moved with his parents to Benton county, coming to Springdale a few years later which has since been his home. He was educated in the schools of Springdale and later engaged in the practice of dentistry here retiring a number of years ago to give his attention to his business enterprises. He was one of the organizers of the First National Bank of Springdale and was president of that institution continuously until his resignation recently on account of ill health. He was an officer in the Springdale Grape Growers association. Dr. Dodson was married twice, his first wife being Miss Minnie Lewis and his second Miss Ret Renner, both of whom have been dead for a number of years. Mrs. Jennie Nickerson is the only immediate member of the family surviving.
