Springdale — John W. Grigg, 74, of 601 Park St., died May 2 at his home. Born March 3, 1894 in Kingston, he was a retired minister and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Martha Clayton Grigg of the home; three sons, Jasper, Burl and Clifford, all of Springdale; five daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Armes of Sanger, Calif., Mrs. Ova Goff and Mrs. Velma Cook, both of Springdale, Mrs. Alice Holloway of Salinas, Kan. and Mrs. Viola Finney of Chico, Calif.; one brother, Neelie of Kingston; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Easley of Springdale; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements Will be announced by Sisco Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martha Grigg, 84, 601 Park Street, Springdale, died September 2 in Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born February 24, 1896, at Kingston, she was the daughter of Jake and Clara Bowen Clayton and the widow of the Rev. John W. Grigg. She joined the Primitive Baptist Church 59 years ago and was a member of Faith Regular Primitive Baptist Church in Springdale. She moved to Springdale in 1942 from Kingston.

Survivors include two sons, Jasper R. Grigg and Bural Grigg of Springdale; five daughters, Mrs. Doyle (Dortha) Armes, Mrs. Cary (Ova) Goff and Mrs. Howard (Velma) Cook of Springdale, Mrs. Jay (Alice) Hollswell of Salina, Kansas, and Mrs. Kelly (Viola) Finney of Santee, California; three brothers, Oliver Clayton of California, John Clayton of Prairie Grove and Lee Clayton of Idaho; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hussa of Pampa, Texas, Mrs. Julie McEntire, Mrs. Lula More, Mrs. Anna Cates, and Mrs. Birgie Fields of Springdale; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services were Thursday, September 4 in Faith Regular Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnie Sisemore and the Rev. Lewis Brooks officiating. Internment was in Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel.
