When Lyle Fremont McClure was born on April 3, 1900, in Iowa, his father, William, was 30 and his mother, Evelyn, was 19. He married Flora Shumate on December 24, 1919, in Lonoke, Arkansas. They had five children during their marriage. He died on March 30, 1948, in Pulaski, Arkansas, at the age of 47.
