Funeral services celebrating the life of Jewel "PawPaw" Templeton, age 90 will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Vivian, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Loyce Plunkett, assisted by Rev. Barry Carter.
Interment will follow in the Fouke Cemetery, Fouke, AR. Visitation will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 from 5:30-8pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Vivian, LA.
Mr. Templeton was born on March 17, 1920 in Fouke, AR to Thomas Jefferson and Minnie Lea Larey Templeton and passed away on February 5, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was a US Navy WWII veteran, pipe fitter for Local 100, Past Master of the Rodessa Masonic Lodge. Mr. Templeton also loved to garden, horses and wagons, trail riding, fishing and was a generous man.
His parents, his wife of 54 years Betty Jane Templeton, 6 brothers and 5 sisters preceded Mr. Templeton in death.
He is survived by 2 sons, Buddy Templeton of Rodessa, LA, Van Templeton and wife Nancy of Avenger, TX; 3 daughters, Sharon Boles Wingo and husband, Jimmy of Rodessa, LA, Pam Sanchez of Minden, LA, and Julia Sanders and husband Ray of Doddridge, AR.; special niece, Becky Williams and nephew, Kenny Templeton and wife, Kathy. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his extended Templeton family residing in Washington State.
Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Templeton will be Wayne Tyson, Briggs Tyson, David Killian, Colton Tyson, Donald Humphrey, Raymond Slaton, Mark Tyson and Rickey Harding. Jack Martin will serve as honorary pallbearer.
