SPRINGDALE — Charles Wesley Jones, age 89, of Springdale, went to be with his Lord on February 7, 2015 in Springdale. He was born November 26, 1925 in Van Buren, Arkansas the son of Ben Wesley and Dora Mattingly Jones.

Charles was a hardworking man that believed in giving everything he had at his job and providing for his family. He retired from George's Feed Mill after 55 years. He loved his bride dearly and they recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. They were able to be together the last year at The Maples in the same room. His grandkids were the highlight of his later years, and would be the one thing that would bring a smile to his face when they visited as his health failed.

He enjoyed working in his shop making wooden Christmas decorations, shelving, photo frames, and rocking chairs. He grew beautiful food gardens every year and kept his yard in pristine condition. He loved camping, fishing and hunting with the boys in the family, watching the Razorbacks and wrestling.

Charles is remembered by his family as a devoted older brother to his siblings. His father died when he was 5 and he was given charge as the "man of the house" to watch over his brother and three sisters. He carried that charge faithfully until each of their deaths. Many of his weekends were spent going down to Van Buren to visit the family. He is remembered fondly as "Uncle Charles" to many nieces and nephews. His in-laws were his second set of parents and he enjoyed the many family gatherings with them, and eating big home cooked meals.

He was saved late in life and though hard for him to read his Bible, he loved to attend church. He loved gospel music. He was an usher and considered it an honor to serve.

He is preceded by his parents; one brother, Bill Jones; and three sisters; Mary Dunn, Sarah Sayre and Lola Shue. He is also preceded by one great-grandson angel, Rodney, and one other great grandchild angel. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eva Lee Jones, of the home; one son: Gary Jones and his wife, Sheila, of Springdale; two daughters: Rhonda Meeks and Jonelle Jones both of Springdale; five grandchildren: Tiffany Jones, Wesley Jones, Jennifer Price, Brent Meeks and Robin Meeks; 10 great-grandchildren: Judd Jones, Jeremiah Jones, Kelton Price, Kellar Price, Korbin Price, Khloe Price, Catherine Meeks, Tate Meeks, Jack Meeks and Marlee Meeks; and one great-great-granddaughter; Clara Meeks.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Clark Snow and Bro. Danny Norris officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery.

The family wishes to give thanks to the special caregivers at The Maples for their devoted care and compassion during the time he lived there, and to the loving caregivers of Circle of Life Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to www.memfuneral.com.

SPRINGDALE — Eva Lee Jones, 88, of Springdale went to be with the Lord Oct. 21, 2017. She was born March 18, 1929, in Kingston, Ark., the daughter of the late William and Minnie Cook Norris.

Eva Lee (Marnaw) was a gentle, kind, quiet woman of great faith in Jesus. She grew up in Kingston, Ark., in a tiny house filled with a big love with her mom and dad and brother, Dale. She was married to her first and only love, Charlie, for 70 years. Her life's goal was to do whatever she needed to do to meet the needs of her husband and 3 kids. She had a passion for studying God's Word and following Jesus. It taught her how to have peace, and to love and serve others.

Her children feel blessed that God allowed Eva Lee to be their mother. No matter what they did she loved them unconditionally. She made sure they knew she was always there for them in any situation. She also had a huge heart of love for her grandchildren, and extended family members.

She specialized in being a fantastic cook, seamstress, artist and prayer warrior. For many years she kept children in her home and loved them as her own.

She spent the last four years of her life living at The Maples. She loved the staff of hall 200. They pampered her and treated her like a queen. She would say each one was her favorite. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to them for making her last years on this earth comfortable and safe.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles Wesley Jones, brother; Dale Norris, sister; Donna Jean Norris, great grandson Rodney and one other Angel great-grandchild.
