When Charles Leroy Hopkins was born on December 6, 1919, in Louisiana, his father, Charles, was 45 and his mother, Viola, was 25. He married Loretta Uhlenbrock on May 17, 1938. He then married Maude Estelle Ingram on March 7, 1945. He died on September 12, 1978, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 58, and was buried there.
