When Jenny Mae (Mae) Jones Shupe was born on February 27, 1902, in Prairie, Arkansas, her father, William, was 41, and her mother, Sarah, was 22. She married Roscoe Eugene Moore on May 7, 1921, in her hometown. They had six children during their marriage. She died on September 4, 1980, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 78, and was buried there.
