When Verne Leroy Moritz was born on December 1, 1917, in Ulm, Arkansas, his father, William, was 28 and his mother, Flora, was 27. He married on December 1, 1951, in Prairie, Arkansas. He had two children during his marriage. He died on March 6, 1981, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 63, and was buried there.
