When Rufus Roberson was born on April 25, 1898, in White, Arkansas, his father, Henry, was 45 and his mother, Eliza, was 41. He married Vernie Stracener on April 14, 1917, in his hometown. He died on October 18, 1991, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 93, and was buried in Harmony, Arkansas.
