Vernon Lee "Short" Wooldridge, 87, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away Jan. 6, 2014 at home. Born July 13, 1926, in Knobel, AR.
Mr. Wooldridge was a farmer and truck driver who served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of Christian Assembly Church in Hoxie.
On July 4, 1956, he married Elizabeth Joan (Lester) Wooldridge. She preceded him in death on August 29, 1971.
Survivors are son Stanley Wooldridge of Jonesboro; daughter Carla Ladd of Corning; brothers Keith Wooldridge of Paragould and Creel Wooldridge of Jacksonville; sisters Clevagene Smith of Knobel, Janell Gunter of Paragould, Patsy Beard of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Reba West of Morgantown, KY; seven grandchildren Jimmy Ladd, Sherri Hopkins, Tanya Wooldridge, Julie Wooldridge, Shannon Rodery, Christopher and Nickole Wooldridge; 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son Terry Dean Wooldridge; parents Jim and Edna Wooldridge; brother Bobby Joe Wooldridge; and son-in-law Jimmy Ladd, Sr.
Services were held at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Burial was in Corning Cemetery.
