James Hershel Shockley, 80, of Springdale, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. Born Jan. 19, 1920, in Lowell, he was the son of James Hayden and Parolee Creech Shockley.

He was a lifelong resident of the area, formerly a supervisor at Heekin Can Co., a home builder for many years and a deacon at Pleasant Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Leanell Zachary Shockley, of Springdale; and a daughter, Kara Lea Shockley of Springdale.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Larry Branum and Wiley Davis officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5-6 p.m.

SPRINGDALE — Leanell Shockley, 91, of Springdale, died Monday Oct. 31, 2016, at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born April 7, 1925, in Texas, to Sherman and Geneva Inez Barton Zachary.

Leanell was devoted to the care of her husband and daughter, and together they enjoyed traveling. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Shockley, in 2000, and two brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Kara Shockley of Springdale; two sisters, Marjorie King and Val Wallis both of Lowell; in-laws, Dorothy Zachary of Plainview, Texas, A.E. "Junior' Erwin of Springdale; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, online guestbook at www.heritageofmwa.com.

SPRINGDALE — Kara Lea Shockley, 54, and lifetime Springdale resident, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born July 21, 1964, to James Hershel and Sybble Leanell (Zachary) Shockley.

Kara graduated from and worked at the Elizabeth Richardson Center in her younger years. She enjoyed coloring and latch-hook crafts, and was a huge Barbara Mandrell fan. She especially enjoyed traveling with her parents in their motorhome and attending shows in Branson. Kara was baptized into the Church of Christ and could always be heard singing.

She is survived by her aunts and uncles, Margie King, Valera Wallis, Dorothy Zachary, A.E. Erwin, Jr., and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Sherman and Geneva (Barton) Zachary and James Hayden and Parolee (Creech) Shockley.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, online guestbook and obituary at www.heritageofnwa.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Elizabeth Richardson Center, 10 S. College Ave., Fayetteville, Ark., 72701.
