Obituary:
Lola Irene VanWinkle, 91, of Bradford, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 15, 2014. She was born November 28, 1922 at Union Hill a daughter of the late Hob and Katie Clark Knight. She retired from Vickers after more than 20 years of service and also worked a number of years as a CNA at Oakdale Nursing Home. Mrs. Vanwinkle was a long-time member of the Dripping Springs Assembly of God and truly enjoyed caring for others. She received many years of pleasure working in her flowers and beautifying her yard.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Carl VanWinkle and wife Maggie of Bald Knob and Rickey VanWinkle and wife Linda of Bradford; 2 daughters, Kathryn Sullivan and husband Jackie of Bald Knob and Brenda Leatherwood of Tishomingo, Mississippi; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Odessa Linvelle of Bald Knob, Ruby Turner of Bradford and Cora Purtell of Little Rock; 2 brothers, Billy Knight and Ernest Knight both of Union Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, W.H. (Ines) VanWinkle; son, Wayne VanWinkle; daughters, Glenda and Wanda VanWinkle; brothers, Carl and Carlena Knight; sisters, Arzella Layton and Wilma Knight; son-in-law, J.W. Leatherwood.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Denmark. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob - Judsonia.
