Ralph Thomas Willis, born in Memphis, TN at the Methodist Hospital, was the son of the late C.T. and Linnie Kyle Willis. He died on Maundy Thursday, April 2, in Conway, AR. The Camden resident was predeceased by his wife, Betty Newton Willis and his sister, Kyle Rush. The eighty-seven year old is survived by daughter, Betty Dale Jeanes (Bill) of Valrico, FL, son, Joe Ralph Willis (Denise) of Conway, grandchildren Jason Willis (Meredith) of Dublin, OH, Matthew Jeanes of Austin, TX, Katie Jeanes Watson (Dwight) of Atlanta, GA, Brandy Schluterman (Keith) of Conway, Joseph Willis of Conway, and eight great-grandchildren.

After his Munford High School graduation, he became an M.P. in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After graduating from Louisiana Tech in Chemistry and Zoology, he taught science, worked in a chemical plant, IPCO, and later Bagpack. He enjoyed nursing injured wildlife back to health, walking, delivering Meals-on-Wheels and Christmas gifts for the Methodist church. He missed his wife for 18 years and is now joyfully reunited with her at the feet of God. A special thanks from the family goes to Darla at Heritage Living Center in Conway, AR. She provided loving and compassionate care and was at his bedside even until the final hour.

The family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, Camden, AR 71701 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, 38105.

Graveside service for family and friends will be held Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, AR with Reverend Buddy Ratliff officiating the service. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
