William Thomas “Bill” Reynolds, age 88, was born August 27, 1927 and died on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A native of Camden, Arkansas, Bill and his wife, Rachel, had moved to Tulsa 11 years ago to be closer to their grandchildren.

Bill was a 1945 graduate of Camden High School. He served in the army in Japan after World War II, then earned his B.S.B.A. degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1952. He was a member, teacher, and lay minister at First Presbyterian Church of Camden and at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bixby, Oklahoma. In addition to his career as an engineer for R. N. Reynolds Construction Company, Bill was a board-certified professional engineer in several states, as well as a prolific and talented painter and portrait artist. He also filled in as pastor for numerous church services and funerals in both Arkansas and Oklahoma, and officiated at the wedding ceremony of his grandson in 2015.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Nason and Mary Belle Belin Reynolds; his wife, Rachel Carter Reynolds; his sister, Helen Kisamore; and his brother, Robert N. Reynolds, Jr. He is survived by his two sons (William T. Reynolds, Jr., of Brattleboro, Vermont, and his husband Gregory; and Richard N. Reynolds of Tulsa and his wife Lorna); six grandchildren (Ryan Harrison Reynolds of Bartlesville and his wife Kelsey; Kelly Elaine Kennedy of Fayetteville and her husband Fee; Nicole Kimie Reynolds of Fayetteville; and Julia Layne, Lauren Cate, and Anna Rachel Reynolds of Tulsa); three sisters (Marion Walker of Conway; Ruth Reeves and Mary Belle Dooley of Camden); a brother-in-law (Don Carter of Atlanta, Georgia); three sisters-in-law (Chris Reynolds and Katie Pickett of Camden; Helen Carter of Little Rock); and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

There will be a private interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden. The public is invited to a memorial service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving conducted by the Rev. Erin Kaye at First Presbyterian Church, 313 Greening Street, Camden, at Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., and to a reception in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. In addition, there will be a memorial service held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bixby, Ok on Sunday, May 1 at 3:30 p.m.




In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Camden, Trinity Presbyterian Church of Bixby, or a charitable organization of your choice. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
