When Melissa Graves HARRIS Coffey was born on August 16, 1845, in Macon, Tennessee, her father, Reuben, was 34, and her mother, Catherine, was 24. She married John David Coffey on January 13, 1864, in White, Arkansas. They had ten children in 27 years. She died on February 14, 1930, in White, Arkansas, at the age of 84.
