When Henry Virgil Benton was born on May 10, 1883, in Arkansas, his father, John, was 44 and his mother, Rachel, was 43. He married Lillie A Barger (1887–1965) on December 24, 1905. He then married Rose Ellen Daugherty and they had four children together. He died on October 16, 1949, at the age of 66, and was buried in his hometown.
Lillie A Barger and Henry Virgil Benton were divorced on August 14, 1924, in Pulaski, Arkansas, after 18 years of marriage. She was 37 years old.
