Clara Belle Arts, age 86, of Glenwood, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 31, 2010.
She was born on November 30, 1924, at New Lothrop, Michigan, the daughter of Harold C. Moreland and Florence Ellen Fretter Moreland. She was preceded in death by her parents.In June of 1963, she moved to Glenwood from Chowchilla, California and retired after many years at the Glenwood Glove Factory. She was a member of the Glenwood Church of Christ. Clara was a devoted caretaker to her mother, was a wonderful homemaker who took great pride in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her newborn great-great-grandson. She will be missed by all.
She is survived by seven children, David Austin of Elgin, Illinois, Robert Mecum of Glenwood, Judy Taylor of Glenwood, Elaine Johnson of Bossier City, Louisiana, Barbara Brausch of Glenwood, Susan Arts of Glenwood and Michael Arts of Deerfield Beach, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 2, 2011, at the Glenwood Cemetery with E. J. Johnson officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons
