When Louis Crawley Brown was born on January 8, 1889, in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, his father, Calvin, was 34 and his mother, Flora, was 30. He married Florence Lee Curl and they had five children together. He then married Ellen Florence Hulsey and they had five children together. He also had one child from another relationship. He died in December 1982 in Judsonia, Arkansas, at the age of 92, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
