Thomas Herbert DeLone, 41, of 713 Harrell Street, a senior operator for Monsanto Chemical Co., died in a local hospital at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday after a protracted illness. Mr. DeLone was born in El Dorado Jan. 15, 1924, the son of Herbert and Nell Stow DeLone. He was a veteran of World War II, in which he served as a pilot in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of Wesley Chapel (Methodist). He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Nell Stow DeLone, and a brother, Maxwell DeLone, both of El Dorado. He leaves also two nephews, Stow and Herbert T. DeLone, of El Dorado; and two aunts, Mrs. Tessie Martin of El Dorado and Mrs. Ruby Brock of Smackover. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Wesley Chapel on East Main Road with the Rev. Oscar Haire officiating. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Active pallbearers were Fred L. West, W. O. Cheatham, George R. Waldron, Bush Wheelus, W. J. Whitworth, Walter Self, Raymond West and Tom J. Bowman. (The El Dorado Times - January 5, 1966)
