Lucille Ward Atkins was born on September 14, 1927 to the late Oscar Ward and Evelyn Haynes Ward. She entered into eternal rest on July 16, 2015. She was a retired factory worker and remained active in her family farm business until the time of her death. She was well known for her hard work planting, picking and selling fruits and vegetables from her
family farm, “The Atkins Farm”. Her passions in life included maintaining her black and blueberry plants, and caring for her farm animals which ranged from livestock to free range guineas, ducks, chickens and peacocks. Her biggest achievement and greatest love in life
was her family and friends. Every Sunday after church was dedicated to eating a family lunch and spending time together.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Arthur Atkins; son, James Atkins; brother, Benny Ward; sister, Marie Sivils.
Survivors include one son, Bo Atkins and wife Renata of Eudora, AR, daughter: Dorothy Romer of Eudora, AR; sister, Bonnie Ellis of Eudora, AR; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Atkins will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church in Eudora, AR with Rev. Fred Gay, Rev. Sammy Land, and Rev. Kenneth Watt officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Eudora, AR. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of Eudora.

James Walter Atkins, 68, of Eudora, AR passed away peacefully February 20, 2014 from complications of the flu. He was born on October 18, 1945 in Eudora, AR to the late James Arthur Atkins and Lucille Ward Atkins.
James never married and spent his life on the family farm raising cattle and vegetable crops. Although he never had children, he took much time up with his nieces and nephews, taking them to rodeos, livestock sales, wrestling matches and teaching them to drive. He will be dearly missed by his canine companion Roscoe, who loved to ride with him while on the farm. James loved to spend his spare time playing dominos and coon hunting. He was a brilliant domino player with great mathematical abilities. Thanks for the many memories we will truly miss you.
Survivors include his mother, Lucille Ward Atkins; sister, Dorothy Romer; brother Bo Atkins and wife Renata, all of Eudora, AR.; uncles, Otis Atkins and wife Polly of Eudora, AR and Bennie Ward of Nesbit, MS; aunt, Bonnie Ward Ellis of Eudora, AR. James is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bunk and Annie Groves Atkins and Oscar and Evelyn Haynes Ward.
Visitation will be 5-7pm Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Eudora, AR. Funeral Service will be held at 11am Monday, February 24, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church in Eudora, AR. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of Eudora, AR are in charge of arrangements.
