SPRINGDALE — Bill F. Lambert, 78, of Springdale died June 17, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 16, 1930, in Blytheville to Ira B. and Jubie Truman McMullin Lambert.

He graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., in 1958. He received a master's degree from the University of Arkansas in 1970. He was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene for more than 30 years.

He taught social studies and drama in Siloam Springs where he also served as vice principal and principal during his tenure. He was pastor of the Bentonville Church of the Nazarene most of the 1970s and was director of Our Farm Youth Home in the early 1980s. He then moved to St. Louis where he was administrator of a private Nazarene school. After returning to Arkansas he finished his career as a counselor in Green Forest, Lowell and Decatur.

He served as chairman of the board of Head Start for 15 years in Rogers. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry, of the home; a daughter, Darla Lambert of Asheville, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Jerri Lynn Skaggs and husband John of Bentonville; two stepsons, Raymond Burns and wife Robin, and Tommy Burns, all of Rogers; a grandson; 10 stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, with the Rev. Jaimie Alexander and the Rev. Earl Raymond Baker officiating.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday in Blytheville.

Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church in Rogers or Bentonville Church of the Nazarene.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
