When Billie John Armstrong was born on October 8, 1936, in Arkansas, his father, Robert, was 42 and his mother, Alta, was 33. He had one brother and three sisters. He died on December 26, 1996, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 60.

Emma Jane Armstrong (Linkous), resident of Joy, died Sunday, January 28, 2007. She was 68 years of age.
Emma was born January 14, 1939 in Plainview, the daughter of Claude Edwin and Minnie Bell Davis Ross. Known by her friends as "Ms. Emma", she was an active member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Joy until her recent illness. Ms. Emma was a businesswoman, owning and operating Les Stewart General Agency, Inc., a very successful insurance agency in North Little Rock. She was loved, respected, and cherished by her family, many friends, and all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight Linkous of the home; her son, Bob Armstrong and his wife, Donna and their children, Ashlea Jane and Austin James; step-daughter, Jennifer Wilson and her husband, David and their sons, Hunter and Tanner; step-daughter, Beth Ann Paul and her husband, Gunnar and their children, Amber and Stone; her sister, Veva Bullock; her brothers, Pete, Jim, and John Ross.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home, P. O. Box 552, Little Rock, AR 72203 in honor of her loving brother, John Ross.
