RJ Gennings, 89 was born to Hugh and Avy Mae Bray Gennings on July 2, 1924 in Batesville, Arkansas and passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 in Searcy. Mr. Gennings was a charter member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Searcy. He was a retired lineman with Southwestern Bell Telephone. He served in the United States Navy, serving in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the North Arkansas Chapter Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
Mr. Gennings is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 65 years Juanita Pearl Gennings, three brothers Ben Gennings, Marlin Gennings, Marvin Gennings, four sisters Virginia Parish, Audria Callicoate, Lois Hughes and Val Terral.
He is survived by two daughters, Gayle (Jerry) Vess and Gwen Gennings, two grandchildren, Corey (Donna) Vess and Laura Cleaver, six great-grandchildren, Taylor Pearson, Colon Cooper, Emily Osborne, Jillian Osborne, Courtney Vess and Lakyn Pearl Vess, a brother-in-law, JR (Phyllis) Kendrick, a sister-in-law, Carol Acklin, a brother-in-law, Ray (Lynn) Kendrick, a sister-in-law, Rena Gennings, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
