William Grady Smith, 43, of 520 W. Main St., died late Thursday night in a local hospital. Born Dec. 9, 1925 in Junction City, he was the son of Clyde and Willie Lewis Smith. He had been an El Dorado resident most of his life and was co-owner of Dixie Sheet Metal Shop. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the College Avenue Church of Christ. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Billie Alford Smith; a daughter, Miss Deborah Gail Smith of El Dorado; his mother, Mrs. Willie Smith of El Dorado; a brother, Ray Smith of Bossier City, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Denton and Mrs. Adele Miller, both of El Dorado; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the College Avenue Church of Christ with Charles Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Active pallbearers will be Bob Ragsdale, Fred Collins, Clyde Perdue, James Ables, Luther Griffith and Owen Laney. (El Dorado Times - March 14, 1969)
