Flora Lovette Hooten, 87 of El Dorado, AR, died on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness.
Born on July 20, 1926 in Strong, AR; she was the daughter of Walker and Lula Harper Gill. Flora graduated from Arkansas A&M University in Monticello and began a long career as a school teacher and taught in the Strong, Lake Village, Crossett and El Dorado school systems. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of El Dorado. Flora enjoyed good music, dancing and caring for her family.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mary Cash, and husbands Thomas Lovette and Joe Max Hooten.
Survivors are sons Tommy R. Lovette of El Dorado, AR and Frank L. (Sharon) Lovette of Redfield, AR; a brother in law Jake Cash of Arlington, TX; along with grandchildren Jeremy (Sarah) Lovette, Jennifer (Chad) Powell, and Nicholas (Crystal) Lovette and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2pm, Monday, September 23, 2013 in the Chapel of Young Funeral Directors with Dr. Lynn Worthen officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from Noon until 2 pm service time.
