May 16, 1960 - December 27, 2017
Kimberly Kathleen Brazeal, 57, of Topeka, Kansas, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at Peterson Nursing Home in Osage City, Kansas, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Kimberly Kathleen Conway on May 16, 1960, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Grover Hugh and JoAnn Hintz Conway.
In her youth, Kim was an active member of First Church of God in El Dorado. Kim graduated from El Dorado High School in 1978 and earned her BSE from Southern Arkansas University in 1985. She was employed with the Caddo Parrish School Board in Shreveport, Louisiana, and also taught at Ferris Independent School District in Ferris, Texas. Kim married her husband, Joe Brazeal, on Aug. 1, 1987. They lived in El Dorado for several years and had three children. After leaving El Dorado, they also lived in Little Rock, Arkansas; Brandon, Mississippi; Carmel, Indiana; and finally Topeka, Kansas. Kim was a member of First United Methodist Church in Topeka.
Everyone who knew Kim knew she loved God and loved worshipping Him at church. She lived her life to the fullest and it showed. Kim’s warm eyes and smile could light up any room she entered. She had an infectious laugh and could melt the hardest of hearts. Kim loved her family and friends unconditionally, especially her husband of 30 years, Joe, and their three children. Kim will be missed tremendously, but she left this world a better place to live in and is now with her Lord and Heavenly Father.
A special thank you goes to those who cared for Kim during her long battle with Alzheimer's and lung cancer: Peterson Nursing Home, Osage City, Kansas; Golden Gardens, Indianapolis; Cicoa Aging & In-home Solutions, Indianapolis; and Region 8, Brandon, Mississippi.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents and an infant child. Survivors include her husband, Joe Brazeal; one daughter, Caroline Brazeal, of Little Rock; two sons, Joseph Brazeal and John Brazeal, of Brandon, Mississippi; and three grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Carolyn Snider, of El Dorado.
There will be numerous life celebrations in memory of Kim. These will be announced at a later date.
