Mrs. Gladys Ricks Swan, 94, of Hamburg, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Woods of Monticello Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Swan was a native of Ashley County and a resident of Hamburg, Portland and the Trafalgar Community all of her life. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Verdie Swan; a daughter, Betty Sonnier; her parents, William Ricks & Jessie Viola Cunningham Ricks; four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Kilcrease of Hamburg; a son, James Hill of Gulfport, Mississippi; a sister, Martel Tanksley of Crossett; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2010 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. E.W. Ricks officiating. A private burial will be in the Trafalgar Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Arkansas, 10411 W. Markham, Suite 130, Little Rock, AR 72205-1409 or to a charity of your choice.
